
The Whole Grain Initiative (WGI), operating under the umbrella of the International Association for Cereal Science and Technology (ICC), is a global network of experts and organisations working together to drive a worldwide shift from refined grains to whole grains, unlocking the many health and sustainability benefits this transition brings. Established in 2017, it unites partners across the entire food value chain to deepen understanding of the prerequisites and challenges at every stage of the food system, and to create the conditions and tools needed to make lasting changes in dietary habits.
Collaboration is at the heart of the Whole Grain Initiative. The Switch to Whole Grains campaign shows what can be achieved when experts, food businesses, content creators and communities work together with one shared goal: to make healthy and sustainable choices easier for everyone.
